JBW&K renders an array of sophisticated estate planning services to our clients for the transfer of wealth both during life and at death in ways that will minimize taxes and carry out the goals of the individual clients for their families and other beneficiaries. Our focus is on educating and advising the client on all available options and the tax and non-tax consequences of their choices. Our clients include individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts and estates, and tax-exempt organizations.

Our attorneys regularly advise clients on sheltering assets from income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes, and help clients in preserving wealth for future generations. We prepare estate planning documents for the management and disposition of the client's estate during lifetime, at incapacity, and at death. In doing this, we work with the client's other professional advisors such as CPAs, financial planners, investment managers, insurance advisors and trust officers in a team approach to planning in order to obtain the best result for the client. We also assist with the management of trusts and estates during all phases of administration, to include probate. We assist our business clients in planning for a smooth transition of the business interest at incapacity and death through the preparation of family partnerships, limited liability company agreements, stockholder agreements, buy-sell agreements, and marital agreements.
