Elder law deals with legal issues that arise because of advancing age. Many clients find themselves in need of legal services for the first time in their lives. Accustomed to being self-reliant, many become involved with highly complex entitlement and benefit programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
If our clients are frail or infirm, they may be vulnerable to financial or physical abuse or fall prey to commercial exploitation. If incapacity is imminent, strategies must be considered so agents can handle financial affairs and health care. Even clients who enjoy good health must plan for possible incapacity and long-term care. In advising our clients about these issues, we endeavor to help families face issues of aging with dignity and independence.

My name is Angela Manz. I was born in Great Falls, Montana and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I lived with my grandparents during a large part of my childhood and was able to see firsthand the joys and challenges that accompany aging.
I have a heart and love for seniors that goes beyond a simple business relationship. That’s why I say: It’s not just business. It’s personal.
In January 2008, I was selected to serve on the Council of the Elder Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association.
The purpose of the Virginia Bar Association’s Elder Law Section is to bring together VBA members who are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to the elderly.
