Jennifer West Vincent was admitted to the Virginia State Bar and joined the firm in 1998.
Her practice areas include asbestos litigation as well as workers’ compensation under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. Devoting the majority of her practice to representing asbestos victims and their families, she has recovered workers’ compensation benefits for clients before the Office of Administrative Law Judges, U. S. Department of Labor, Benefits review Board, Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Vincent earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary in 1998. While in law school, she served on the staff of the Bill of Rights Journal.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 from Christopher Newport University. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Ms. Vincent served as Associate Editor of the Smithfield Times in Smithfield, Virginia, where she was awarded first place honors in 1992 by the Virginia Press Association for a series of news articles. She has authorized an article on legal ethics in the VTLA Journal and has lectured on ethical considerations.
Ms. Vincent is admitted to practice before the U. S. Supreme Court, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, U. S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the Virginia Supreme Court. She is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Newport News Bar Association, and the Greater Peninsula Women’s Bar Association.
She is a lifelong resident of Newport News and is the third generation of the West family to practice law in Newport News.
